Josh Lane

Josh-bio-photo-300x260Josh Lane is a frequent wanderer of Northern California’s beaches and coastal hills, often in search of wildlife tracks and sign. Josh has been an avid wildlife tracker for over 16 years, and has observed many bird language patterns in the field. Some of his favorite moments have included close encounters with fishers, martens, bobcats, leopards, and mongoose, all thanks to the voices of the birds. Josh traveled recently to the Kalahari region of Botswana, and observed first-hand how the patterns of bird language can be found universally around the world.

This passion for exploring nature has led Josh to co-develop various programs for supporting nature connection, most recently including the Backyard Bird Language online course with Jon Young. Josh contributed to the writing of the “How to Learn Bird Language” appendix in the book, What the Robin Knows: How Birds Reveal the Secrets of the Natural World, and is a frequent contributor to the BirdLanguage.com blog.
